DC Stories: Miss Pixie’s

Bringing style to the vibrant Logan Circle corridor, Miss Pixie’s has been surprising customers with unique and cherished finds for over a decade!

Pixie Windsor started her namesake vintage and home-furnishings shop in Adams Morgan after a serendipitous encounter with the previous storefront owner led to the change of hands in 1997. Her life-long love of antiques, auctions, and yard sales fueled the growth of her shop from the 550 square foot brick Adams Morgan location to its current 14th Street address (which is nearly eight times the size) in 2008.

Like many in retail, the pandemic forced Pixie and her team to navigate difficult choices and try new ways of engaging customers. Miss Pixie’s has found success on Instagram by posting pieces daily that get sold almost instantly. This has helped the store keep this year’s decline in sales because of the pandemic to a much more digestible reality. Despite the pandemic’s many setbacks, one can certainly sense that Miss Pixie’s isn’t going away anytime soon!
